In addition to being a scientist, a scholar, and a statesman, Benjamin Franklin had a unique list of personal hobbies. From taking “air baths” to inventing the glass armonica, Franklin’s interests spanned a variety of subjects. While historians do not know for sure whether he kept bees of his own, he is mentioned in 1768 as a patron in a Thomas Wildman’s Treatise on the Management of Bees.
