Getting Here
We’re a short distance from Center City Philadelphia. You can get here by car, bus, bike, or foot. Parking is available in our garage or on the street.
Driving
The Franklin Institute science museum is located in Center City Philadelphia, at the intersection of 20th Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. The main pedestrian entrance is at street level to the right of the museum steps.
Main Museum Parking
The museum's parking garage entrance is located behind the building at the intersection of 21st Street and Winter Street. The GPS address of our parking garage entrance is 271 North 21st Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
Parking is $25 per vehicle. TFI Members save $10.
Please Note: The Franklin Institute’s parking garage has direct access to the museum. The garage has a limited number of spaces and reaches capacity often. The Franklin Institute garage has a height limit of 6'5" and has limited parking for oversized vans, trucks, and SUVs.
Public Transit
Train
- If you’re coming from the Philadelphia metro area, catch a SEPTA subway or regional rail train to nearby 30th Street or Suburban Stations.
- If you’re coming from South Jersey, take the PATCO Speedline, which offers service to Center City Philadelphia.
- If you’re coming from out of town, catch an Amtrak train to 30th Street Station, just a few minutes away from the museum.
Bus
SEPTA Bus Routes 32, 33, 38 or 49 all serve the museum area. Check out SEPTA’s website for more information.
Philly PHLASH
Take the Philly PHLASH to stop #10 to visit The Franklin Institute from other local attractions in the Downtown Loop. Runs every 15 minutes from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm when in season.
Biking
Feel free to lock up your bike at racks in our parking garage. There are also two Indego Bike Share stations nearby: one at 21st and Winter Streets and another at 20th and Race Streets.
