Science Connections Day: ASCB & PennSED
Saturday, December 6, 2025 | 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Curiosity brings us together.
Join us for Science Connections Day, where partners from the scientific community help us celebrate science discovery, innovation, and community at the museum. Throughout the day, visitors of all ages can explore interactive exhibits, engage in hands-on experiments, and meet local scientists who are making exciting contributions in their fields.
Featured Programming by American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB):
- Meet a scientist from American Society for Cell Biology (ASCB).
- Explore life through different microscopes and DNA extractions of strawberries and wheat germ.
- See your own cells up close through cheek cell staining.
- Discover how DNA reveals identity through fingerprinting using gel electrophoresis.
Featured Programming by University of Pennsylvania’s Soft Earth Dynamics Lab (PennSED):
- Investigate different material properties with our most fundamental scientific tools: our hands!
- Determine how wheels work on the moon.
- See and feel how sand goes from a solid to a liquid using our fluidizing bed.
