The Franklin Institute Celebrates Pride Month

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month (LGBTQ Pride Month) is celebrated annually in June to honor the 1969 Stonewall riots and works to achieve equal justice and equal opportunity for LGBTQ+ Americans.

Celebrate Pride Month

Join us for a special day of programming that highlights the contributions of some of the amazing Philadelphia organizations that help uplift, educate, and nourish our LGBTQ+ community, especially our young members and their families.

All programming is included with museum admission.

Special Programming

  • Come dressed to express your unique style and walk the illuminated runway for a photo-op in Franklin Hall.

  • Enjoy an all-ages Line dancing lesson with Micheal from Giddy Up Philly

  • Meet team members from GALAEI’S SPLAT Program and learn about their initiatives

  • Learn about upcoming events and other resources with Philadelphia Family Pride, a non-profit organization for LGBTQ+ parents, prospective parents, and our children of all ages in the greater Philadelphia region

Galaei is Queer, Trans, Black, Brown, Indigenous, and People of Color radical social justice organization serving the Latine/a/o/x community while widening our embrace. Galaei provides services, support, and advocacy for all QTBIPOC communities. Galaei mobilizes for access, opportunity, sexual empowerment, and economic justice while overcoming systemic oppression, structural racism, discrimination, and white supremacy. Our mission of radical social justice is rooted in the radical love that we pursue each day for trans and queer people city-wide, nationwide, and globally.
