Science After Hours returns to kick off Philadelphia Pride Weekend and Pride Month with a celebration that screams “Be You!” Produced in partnership with GALAEI, Summer Ball celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community and welcomes all to an evening of drag, dancing, and science. From the illuminated runway to the disco ball, culminating with a midnight balloon drop finale, we're kicking off Pride Month with a blast!

Local drag queen Eric Jaffe curates a cast of drag performers for stunning numbers.
Join Kemar Jewel for ballroom dance lessons and performances on the main floor. Giddy Up Philly will lead line dancing, and Lili St. Queer will keep the music going.
Feel the positivity with routines and cheers with Philly Cheer Elite, and compete for fabulous prizes at Drag Bingo.
Dance with sounds by Drootrax and DJ R3M SATIVA under the psychedelic skies in the Fels Planetarium, with live visuals created by Liquid Light Lab.
Countdown to midnight and the official start of Pride Month with a massive balloon drop finale and final dance of the night in the Atrium.
Dress to impress with roving photographer UV Lucas, capturing the looks and the moves.
What to Know:
- This is a 21+ event. A valid form of identification will be checked upon entry.
- Tickets include access to core exhibits and galleries and stargazing on the roof deck (weather permitting), as well as a limited-edition lapel pin created exclusively for this month’s event.
- Attendees are allowed small clutch bags only (4.5” x 6.5”).
- Food and beverages, including alcoholic beverages, will be available for purchase at various stations located throughout the museum provided by Seravezza Events.
- Doors for the event will open at 7:30 p.m., with programming starting at 8:00 p.m.
- While we encourage everyone to dress up to the theme, there is no formal dress code for Science After Hours; however, please note that full-face masks are not permitted, and shoes, tops, and bottoms are required for entry.
