Nov 15 2023 | 6 - 9pm

THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT

Includes exploration of the new Wondrous Space exhibit.

What are the next frontiers in science, and where do you fit in? The Franklin Institute invites you to a special Conversation Lab exploring the possibilities of life elsewhere and what that means for life on Earth. The event includes an opportunity to tour TFI’s new Wondrous Space exhibit.

Chief Astronomer Derrick Pitts invites Dr. David Grinspoon, Senior Scientist for Astrobiology Strategy at NASA, to delve into the complexities of searching the universe for habitable planets. Be an astrobiologist as you analyze real data from far-off worlds. Then, consider what it would mean if we actually found life through a group discussion with fellow guests and local experts about the importance of protecting life, the potential for new resources, and the values we take into space.

TFI’s Conversation Lab event series is designed to discuss emerging science in a casual, conversational, and social way where you don’t have to be an expert to share your experiences. Learn, reflect, converse, and be a part of what matters in science.
