Position Description: 

As the PACTS Robotics Workshop Coordinator, you will be responsible for assisting in the oversight of the PACTS Robotics classroom. You will work closely with an additional PACTS Robotics Coordinator to introduce middle school students to the fundamentals of robotics and engineering. We are looking for someone who encourages hands-on exploration and the development of technical skills.

  • Deliver instructional material on engineering and robotics principles, programming languages, and hardware components to middle school students
  • Integrate concepts such as mechanical systems, electronics, sensors, and circuits into hands-on activities and projects
  • Provide support to students in troubleshooting technical issues and programming challenges
  • Provide guidance and assistance to high school Ambassador students
  • Chaperone field trips
  • Assist with special TFI programs and events

 

Position Requirements

  • Experience with content knowledge of specific workshops preferred
  • Classroom management and teaching skills, particularly with middle school students.
  • Collaborative and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in robotics (e.g., Python, Scratch, Java) 
  • Familiarity with robotics platforms and kits (e.g., LEGO Mindstorms, VEX Robotics, Arduino) 

 

Status: Unscheduled part-time. Saturday’s 9:00 am – 1:00 pm with flexible availability to chaperone field trips.
