Science After Hours is a quarterly evening event series exclusively for adults ages 21+ curated by Philadelphia’s premier science museum in collaboration with organizations across the city.
Each evening showcases a different theme and includes cash bars and opportunities to explore The Franklin Institute’s hands-on exhibit spaces. Enjoy live performances, surprising challenges, unexpected extravaganzas, and more, depending on each evening's lineup.

Summer Ball
Science After Hours returns to kick off Philadelphia Pride Weekend and Pride Month with a celebration that screams “Be You!” Produced in partnership with GALAEI, Summer Ball celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community and welcomes all to an evening of drag, dancing, and science. From the illuminated runway to the disco ball, culminating with a midnight balloon drop, we are kicking off the month with a blast!

Spectacular Spectacular, the ever-popular evening spectacle that has it all—music, dance, cinema, a secret speakeasy, surprise entertainment, and stunning performances wrapped around TFI’s exhibit experiences and rooftop gazing. Spectacular Spectacular returns for one night only, so step right up—because life is a cabaret!

Join us as we celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride month with dancing, performances, talks, demonstrations, and revelry spread out across the museum for you to explore. So, from the runway to the dancefloor, have fun, be you and have a Ball!

This is a 21+ event. A valid form of identification will be checked upon entry.

Attendees are allowed small clutch bags only (4.5” x 6.5”).

Food and beverages, including alcoholic beverages, will be available for purchase at various stations located throughout the museum provided by Seravezza Events.

While we encourage everyone to dress up to the theme, there is no formal dress code for Science After Hours; however, please note that full-face masks are not permitted, and shoes, tops, and bottoms are required for entry.
