July 9, 1997 Last night while we were all in our beds sleeping something special happened: our first Monarch caterpillar made his way to the top of the aquarium and changed into a chrysalis. His chrysalis is different from the ones we observed with the Painted Lady; this one is a bright green. We spent some time today observing the chrysalis and discussing and noting the differences between the two kinds. We made a small chart to show you what we found.
